Jazzy Hearts Foundation was created to honor the legacy of Jazlene “Jazzy” Carter, a heart transplant warrior whose mere existence was a light of God’s glory.
Since her diagnosis of restrictive cardiomyopathy at 10 months old, Jazzy kept her doctors thinking outside the box throughout her journey leading up to transplant and even afterwards. Although she tragically succumbed to cardiac allograft vasculopathy, a common cause of death in heart transplant recipients, her life was marked with rare diagnoses, multiple near-death experiences, and miraculous interventions that were a testament to what medical science can do through the will of God.
Established by her parents, Teresa and Jackie Carter, Jazzy Hearts Foundation is a beacon of hope inspired by Jazzy’s extraordinary life. A life that, little did they know, would ignite a spark in others to create a community of strengthened faith and prayers, leading people to Christ and leaving an impact that helps others find solace in their sorrows. Her resilient spirit is the definition of a “jazzy heart” and her life continues to be a ripple effect in more ways than one.
